Removing Delete History Button from IE

The “Delete history” button is a button present in Internet Explorer that can remove all browsing traces from a computer. While ordinarily this would be a good thing, allowing you to protect your browser habits from prying eyes, this can become a liability when you suspect someone is using your computer for malicious or immoral purposes. Removing this button as an option can be accomplished with a basic tweak of your system registry.

Steps:

  1. Open the “Start” menu and click on the “Run” button.
  2. Type in “regedit” and press “Enter.”
  3. Open the following directories in order: “HKEY_CURRENT_USER,” “Software,” “Policies,” “Microsoft,” “Internet Explorer,” “Control Panel.”
  4. Right-click in the right pane and select the option to create a “New” “DWORD.” Name this item “History.”
  5. Set the value of history to “1″ and reboot your computer.

PS:Works for IE6,IE7
