By Seeing the title one should think why create a shortcut to start menu when you can simply click on the Start Button, press CTRL+ESC or by simply pressing the WINDOWS key on your Keyboard. You will find this interesting when you finish reading the article. Some Users want their Desktop to be visually pleasing. With Windows 7 providing wide customization of visual appearance ,many would be satisfied with it.But still there are people who prefer The MAC OS look .
By using Various Dock Programs like Object Dock,Rocket Dock,Nexus Dock etc one can easily get the Apple Dock. But What About the the traditional Windows Start Menu?? you have to go to the Taskbar right?? and Windows doesn’t provide any method to create a desktop shortcut for Start Menu which you can easily add on to your dock.
STEPS TO MAKE YOUR WINDOWS LOOK LIKE MAC OS:
1.First obtain a freeware dock application.I Prefer RocketDock here because it uses less resources and has easy to use interface
2.Now apply some MACOS Skin for your DOCK.
3.Now you should hide the taskbar of windows. The Best Program to do this Taskbar Magic.
4.Now Comes the important part to create a shorcut to your Start Menu.I used a small VBScript here
- Open NOTEPAD and copy this code into it
set wShell=wscript.createobject(“wscript.shell”)
wShell.sendkeys “^{ESC}”
- Save as START.VBS
- Point a shortcut on the dock to it,and use your preferred icon for it in the icon settings.
- Now you have everything a Apple dock , Windows Start Menu, and your favorite Windows 7 Gadgets.
